International 6m classic day racer called Maida. Sail number GB1/K1. This yacht has a fantastic history and is an opportunity for her next owner to join the international classic boat racing scene. Construction

Built to the International 6m rule in 1932. She has a pine carvel hull on mahogany frames with teak decks. Copper fastened with clenched frames. Her topsides require re-finishing but the planking is in sound condition. She has a long keel with lead ballast. Tiller steering to a keel-hung rudder.  Last surveyed in 2018. She has been in her current ownership for 10 years.

History

As far as classic boats go, you could hardly ask for a more popular design than the International Six Metre, a class of racing yachts from the Olympics of yesteryear. Maida is a 35-foot racing sloop, built in 1932 by Alexander Stephen and Sons, which was a Scottish shipbuilding company in Glasgow on the River Clyde. She was designed by ?Wee John? Stephen of the same family.

The International Six Metre class (often called 6mR) is a construction class, which means the boats are not identical but are designed to meet a measurement formula. Also, ?six metre? refers to the formula rather than the length of the boat; six metre yachts are on average 30-35 feet long.

The design has an almost straight line from the stem head to the rudder heel. Unlike the swooping overhang of the stern, the bow is nearly plumb. According to the original plans, Maida was built of African white mahogany planking on a yellow pine backbone. She has been through numerous refits, during which the ribs and some of the planking have been replaced and some deck modifications made. Maida has a recent mahogany cockpit coaming and slatted hardwood cockpit sole boards. Much has been changed on a wooden boat that is 80 years old, but despite her many upgrades, Maida?s classic lines still continue to dazzle.

This Harrison Butler Bogle Class is a comfortable, attractive and weatherly cruising yacht with proven capabilities. The Bogle Design was first drawn by Dr. Harrison Butler in 1933 for the Little Ship Club designing competition. Fairwind has been in her currently ownership for over 20 years and has been well maintained. She is in full commission, ready for the season ahead.

Offering 2 berths in a traditional layout. Up forward you find the marine toilet to centre with a deck opening hatch and good stowage for sails, warps etc. In the saloon you have two single berths to port and starboard. The Rapier 3100 class powerboat, designed by Len Cox, became an icon of the 1960s and enjoyed great success in offshore racing-most notably in the legendary-Cowes Torquay race, founded by Sir Max Aitken. Pegasus, was built in 1966 by the Christchurch Yacht Co. in Dorset. With her planing hull and a top speed of approximately 30 knots, she had a distinguished racing career during the 1960s, winning numerous events and earning the Concours d Elegance trophy for the best all-round production cruiser. The current owners have recently added on the beautiful swim platform, crafted from stainless-steel and Iroko. She is now powered by a pair of 140hp Cummins diesel engines. A truly gorgeous piece of maritime history and well worth a view.

The interior is bright, airy, and spacious, featuring an open-plan layout with five berths and a generous 6ft 6in headroom. Forward, there's a double berth, with the port-side dinette converting down into a double berth. The S&S 34 needs little introductions, as it is a well-known and well proven classic offshore yacht, designed by the world-renowned Sparkman & Stephens. Morning Tide has been well loved in her current ownership of 16 years. Her owner bought her in the Caribbean where she was cruised for a number of years and raced successfully before she was returned to the UK. The Golden Hind 31 is a deeply traditional Maurice Griffiths design which has proved to be a reliable and sturdy offshore cruiser with easily handled sea kindly performance.  Finished with a traditional wooden hull, deck and superstructure, providing the incomparable ambience of a classic yacht.  The moderate draft also allows unfettered cruising in shallow coastal waters. The Ohlson 8.8, not to be confused with the Ohlson 29, was designed by Einar Ohlson in the late 1960's as a comfortable, sea-worthy family cruising boat capable of sleeping six people. For her era, she has a high-performance hull that is easily driven to windward and proved successful at the time. Royal blue painted topsides with white boot line painted and a white superstructure. All painted with AWLgrip. Displacement hull with a long keel, canoe stern and high bow. Hull has been epoxied. Decks are painted in grey anti-slip paint. Keel hung rudder with dual station hydraulic helms and emergency tiller. Last surveyed in 2018 with all recommendations carried out.

Description

This Mitchell 31 Mk1 is a very solidly built motor cruiser that is well set up for fishing trips. With plenty of power from the Perkins engine, which was rebuilt in 2020, she will cruise at 10-12 knots and Mitchell's are well renowned for their sea keeping abilities. Description

Fulvia is one of only twelve King Falcon 33 TSMYs to have been custom-built by William Osborne (the renowned lifeboat builder) and are highly sought after thanks to their classic lines and spacious accommodation. They can also make a great, highly capable and seaworthy alternative to the classic Fairey Swordsman, Weymouth or Freeman 32 cruisers. Her engines have undergone rebuilds in recent years but she is in need of refitting internally, hence the current asking price.

This King Falcon 33 has a unique layout which currently offers four/five berths in three cabins with good headroom throughout. FORECABIN: Permanent double V berth (this could be converted back to two single berths with an infill if required), storage in lockers and beneath berths and deck hatch. New forecabin berth upholstery 2019. HEADS COMPARTMENT: Located to starboard and fitted with a Jabsco marine toilet, washbasin, shower and stowage. GALLEY: An L-shaped galley forward to port equipped with a Voyager 4500 two burner gas stove with grill and oven (new 2019), stainless steel sink and plenty of stowage in various lockers and cupboards. Cutlery, crockery and cookware included. The gas system and cooker were replaced and certified in 2019/20. SALOON: Consisting of a large storage unit with fitted Waeco 12/240V marine fridge and two chairs with L-shaped dining area and bespoke central table with folding leaves opposite. Additional storage is also provided beneath and around the dining area including a large drinks cabinet and various additional racks and shelves. WHEELHOUSE: Helm position with adjustable and removable bucket seat to port, navigator seat with chart storage to starboard and additional seating to aft of cockpit. Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the wheelhouse sole, twin Perkins 6354 Turbo 145hp, six cylinder, marine diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Single lever engine controls. 24V electric start. Hydraulic wheel steering to twin bronze rudders. Shaft drive via bronze P-brackets to twin four-blade bronze propellers. Spare set of propellers. Remote control trim tabs (new 2009). Full engine instrumentation. Her owner has found them to offer economic cruising, consuming approximately 20 litres per hour at around 8-10kts. Fulvia II had a complete engine rebuild in August 2019 which included both engines having a nut and bolt rebuild, including head reworks new injectors and injector pumps have been serviced. The blocks have both been lined and bored to return them to manufacturer's spec., both cranks have been polished and measured, and big ends and mains have been replaced along with thrust washers. One engine has had new pistons, one engine's pistons were within manufacturer's tolerance. Camshaft bushing was all within manufacturer's tolerance and only required a polish. Engine water pumps were both changed, as were the header/ heat exchangers, inter coolers were all been replaced 2022. Turbos have also both been changed in 2019/20. All but one of the oil coolers have been changed in 2019/20. Both alternators have been changed for modern regulator type. Both 24v starters have been rebuilt. The engine bay has been completely redone with new fire and sound lagging. All heavy duty cables and batteries have been replaced with new isolators. Fuel tanks and fuel system renewed at the same time.

The Osborne King Falcon 33 was built in 1975 by William Osborne Ltd., Littlehampton to their own design. White GRP semi-displacement hull with styling stripes and spray chines. Light blue GRP coachroof with blue Treadmaster decks and blue painted non-slip surfaces to the sheathed cabin and wheelhouse roofs. Teak rubbing strakes. Aluminium framed windows. The hull was professionally stripped and epoxy treated in 2009 and had new propellers, shafts and rudders installed in 2010.

The Sadler 25 is a well-regarded pocket cruiser, admired for her solid construction, safe handling, and surprising interior space. Description

'Albatross' is a custom-built fishing or day cruiser, professionally built to a high standard on the highly regarded Tamar 2000 hull. Offering the charm of traditional wooden fishing boat lines enhanced by her traditional Iroko cappings and aft deck, but with much-reduced maintenance, she would appeal equally to day cruisers and fishermen. Although originally designed and built for commercial use at sea, with a big clear aft deck and oversized scuppers, her shallow draft and easily controlled nature would also work well on rivers. Accommodation

The simple accommodation consists of a wheelhouse with good standing headroom open to a forepeak with a single V-berth for overnight stays. This could be modified to offer an offset double berth if required and, although currently not in service, there is a marine toilet installed beneath the starboard berth which appears in good condition (all seacocks and pump should be serviced/overhauled). In the wheelhouse, the helm position is to starboard for ease of access to the aft deck, with a simple galley to port equipped with a sink with manually pumped cold water supply, space for a cooker or hob if required and ample storage.

Although the wheelhouse and cabin are currently quite basic it would be very easy for these to be adapted to suit her next owner's needs.

Located in engine box in cockpit, Lister Petter commercial specification Alpha LPW4, 39.5hp, four cylinder naturally aspirated marine diesel engine. Sea water cooled. The engine was new in 2002 and has been maintained to a regular service schedule by her experienced commercial operator. It has proved faultlessly reliable and is believed to be in very good running order. This model is also known for it's durability, being a popular choice for many commercial users and canal boat operators. Current engine hours are unknown but believed to be in the region of 6,800hrs. It is also very economical, burning approximately 3.5 litres per hour whilst cruising at 6-7kts

The Dubois Half Tonner 'Santa Evita', was built in Fox's yard in 1978 and has been raced successfully in local regattas and some EAORA events in her current ownership. Known as a light airs flyer but still competitive in a breeze, she is currently in dry storage in Burnham-on-Crouch on her twin axle braked road trailer. For what is a very competitive boat there is still room for optimisation should you wish to push the envelope. Built by C H Fox and Son in Ipswich to a design by Ed Dubios in 1978. Cold moulded cedar hull with two 3mm diagonal and one fore and aft veneers on the topsides and five veneers on the centreline adjacent to the keel. The retroussé stern is constructed with three veneers as per the topsides, laid over an internal mahogany frame and is fitted with a GRP danbuoy chute. Mahogany internal reinforcement and frames. Blue/grey Awlgrip painted hull topsides. Light grey painted non-slip decks. Varnished double diagonal coachroof. Cast lead fin keel. Tiller steering to spade hung rudder. Spinlock tiller extension. The aft "key hole" cockpit is a self-draining GRP moulding laid with teak slats .

The Westerly Berwick is stable bilge keel boat with ample headroom, that would make a good family cruiser for the East Coast. The boat has been in his current tenure for 12 years, during which it has had several upgrades and replacements including engine (2010) and standing rigging (2018). Coming aft there is the heads with a manual wash basin and sea toilet, vanity and stowage. Opposite the heads is a large hanging locker. Coming aft is the saloon, there is a central dining table with folding leaves, to port is a single saloon settee berth with a trotter box and to starboard is a large double saloon settee berth. Aft to port is the galley, there is a fitted cool box, stainless steel basin with manual fresh water tap and a two burner Plastimo Neptune 2000 stove/oven/grill. The Trader 41+2 offers generous accommodation with 6 berths in 3 cabins, and the saloon could also be utilised to provide further berths if required.
FORECABIN:   Fitted with two single V berths (an infill to form a double could easily be created), good storage in a range of lockers and drawers, and portlights.
SIDE CABIN:   Located to port and fitted with twin single bunk beds, this cabin could easily be adapted to provide an office, hobby room, or walk-in wardrobe if required.

FORWARD HEADS:   Located to starboard and fitted with an electric marine toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail, mirror, opening portlight, and storage. 
GALLEY:   Large C-shaped galley to port equipped with a built-in two-burner gas hob and separate electric oven with grill, microwave, fridge, stainless steel sink, and ample storage. 
SALOON:   The open-plan wheelhouse saloon features a large L-shaped settee to port with two armchairs opposite. Forward to starboard is a well-equipped internal helm position with a large bench seat, with excellent access provided to both side decks via sliding doors.

This is the displacement cruising option for the Trader 41 and offers excellent economy ideal for long-distance liveaboard cruising, only consuming approx. 22 litres per hour at the top cruising speed of 10kts, and are even more economical at slower displacement speeds of 6-7kts.

Jeanneau Sunshine 36 built in 1984 by Jeanneau to a design by Tony Castro. White painted GRP hull. Aluminium toe rails. White GRP superstructure with moulded non-slip decks. Cast iron fin keel with tiller steering to a partially skeg hung rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit. Last surveyed in 2021.

The Parker 27 was developed from the Super Seal 26 designed by successful small race yacht designer Ron Holland. These boats offer an exceptional combination of sailing performance and cruising accommodation. The hull has the majority of the ballast in the bilges, with a deep, efficient daggerboard style fin keel and fractional rig providing superb windward performance. Offwind the hull is also fast, surfing readily. 'Infamy' is a well presented example, with a 2008 Nanni diesel engine and a 2023 insurance survey is available to interested parties.
